Laus Polyphoniae 2010
MANU SCRIPTUM - five centuries of music straight from the source
from 21 through 29 August 2010
Laus Polyphoniae sails in 2010 under the flag MANU SCRIPTUM (hand-written) and carries a load of five centuries of music from good sources. The programme features works in unison as well as polyphony from splendid manuscripts, some of them richly decorated, while in other cases they are stunning because of their comprehensiveness and rich contents. Twelve historical sources from the period 1050-1550 have been selected by AMUZ as a guideline through the festival. These musical treasures will lead you into all corners of Western Europe, by medieval living rooms, impressive gothic cathedrals, and opulent renaissance courts...
