Yaniv d’Or, Ensembles Barrocade & Naya
Latino-Ladino: Jewish repertoire from the Mediterranean
Yaniv dOr and the Barrocade & Naya Ensembles present cantigas, romancas and coplas: music from the Jewish Diaspora on a range of themes such as love, homesickness and even the different ways of cooking aubergines. The words to most of the songs are in Ladino, the language of the Sephardic Jews. The music is traditional or Baroque with Mediterranean and Spanish-American rhythms; Turkish and Arabic influences are never far away.
