Le Concert Brisé
Cornetto virtuoso William Dongois and friends illuminate the early chamber music of Monteverdi and contemporaries. Also the entirely new and budding baroque style that came immediately afterwards gets pride of place: virtuoso music for the living room and for the church.
Dongois pursued advanced studies at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. As a cornetto and trumpet player he collaborated with Concerto Palatino, Hespèrion XXI, René Jacobs, Ton Koopman and Andrew Parrott. With his ensemble Le Concert Brisé he is the perfect choice for this sublime chamber music by among others Caccini, Malvezzi, Merula, Rognoni, Donati and Monteverdi himself.
